Meet the Photographer
Hey, my name is Saul Felipe-Ortiz.
Hi, I’m Saul! I’m an event and portrait photographer based in Arkansas, and I’m also a proud Razorback and current University of Arkansas student. My attention to emotion and detail allows me to capture the essence of each wedding, couple, and family in a way that feels organic and authentic. Since 2021, I’ve had the privilege of working professionally, and I’m constantly inspired by meeting new people and exploring beautiful places.
My friends would describe me as spontaneous, outgoing, and always up for an adventure. Whether it’s a last-minute trip, hiking a new trail, watching football, or spending time with loved ones, I bring that same energy and joy into my work.
While I had a camera from a very young age, I truly started to fall in love with photography around 2018, beginning simply with an iPhone. In 2020, I got my first real camera and began exploring photography as a hobby. By 2021, I was photographing events like quinceañeras and weddings, and that’s when I knew I had found something that brought together all of my intrest and passions.
One of the things I love most about photos is how they become more meaningful with time. The moments they capture may be just there, but photographs allow us to relive and savor them for a lifetime. They also give us the opportunity to leave behind a piece of our legacy for future generations.
.
Stepping away from photography for a moment, I’m also a student. I attend the University of Arkansas, where I am currently pursuing degrees in Biology and Spanish, while also working as a medical assistant from time to time. My goal is to apply to medical school in the next few years.
At first, this might seem like a big contrast to photography, but in many ways it is not so different from healthcare. Whether I am working with patients or clients, I find joy in engagement, connection, and building meaningful relationships. Communication and trust are at the heart of both paths, and I strive to deliver the highest quality of care and service, whether through my work in medicine or through the photos I capture.
What drives me is creating photos that will mean just as much 20 years from now as they do today. I want every image to carry emotion and tell a story, not just be a picture but a memory you can hold onto. I may seem a little shy at first, but I quickly transition into being outgoing. Once we connect, you will see the cheerful and friendly energy I bring to every session, the same energy I hope shines through in each photo.
